81 Z28 Cowl Induction Scoop Wiring
I have a cowl induction scoop from an 81 Z28 that I installed on my 89 RS and I was wondering if anyone knows how to properly wire it up so that the flapper doors open at WOT.
I did not get a chance to see how the switch functioned on the car that it came off of. So I don't know how or where the switch was installed or if there was a relay in the system that triggered the flapper door motor.
There is a spot on my gas pedal bracket that I could mount a switch... but I am still unsure about the relay.
Or, if anyone has any experience in the wiring for the early third gen z28 ram air, that probably uses a similar mechinism.
Thanks for your help.

you could use a vacuum switch from a 84 trans am, all you do is run a vacuum line from the motor to it, then a ignition feed to the actuator motor and the switch grounds the actuator under full throttle conditions.

Thanks for the advice... now I just have to find one as well as the motor that actuates it (burned it out). Do you know if there is a relay in there anywhere?
