I have two questions, if anyone can help I would deeply appreciate your info! 1. Installing the Air fuel ratio, where can I connect into the oxygen sensor? What do I look for? They say not to connect directly into the sensor. 2. Water temp sending unit, where can I place this? What do I look for? I'd love to do this project tomorrow, I'll post pic's when it's all done!!!! What year ya got? Ive got A/F on my 87 TPI and my 90 RS thats carbed. I tapped into the wire to the ECM on it no problems for 2 yrs the carbed installed it into O2 sensor I put in the header an ran it straight to my gauge.Works great I also helped a freind install on 91 rustang tapped into wire to ECM no problems for him either. The temp sensor can either be tapped into or you can put another sensor into the intake or head anywhere you can get it into antifreeze on the engine.Have some major crap with the TPI after some major recent upgrades check out my post and give me a hand if you can any help would be appreciated.

 

Deik, thanx for the imput. I have a 92 Z-28. For the o2 Sensor, what color is the wire on the ECM? And where is the water temp sending unit? I think it's on the passenger side? Thanx for your response. I didn't understand the last part of your reply? What do you need a hand w/?

 

I beleive wire is purple but the easiest way is to tap into the wire were the sensor plugs into the ECM wire on driverside around the brake lines tap in on the ECM side in case you ever have to change the sensor.Your gauge wire should be able to reach.The temp sensor on TPI is on driver side head on TBI it is the sensor @ the water neck has yellow and black wire use yellow wire.You can also put an additional sesor in the heads should be a plug or sensor for fans etc. between spark plug 1&2 and 6&8.As for my woes check out thread on weak spark @ plugs Help that would be my major headache.
