Blowing fuses

Gotta problem i cant/dont have time to figure out. My whole dash is out on my 89 firebird, when I put a new fuse in for the dash pannel everything comes on but the spedometer but with about 5 minutes of driving the fuse blows again and everything goes out. most of the time the fuse blows when I have the car at about 3/4 throttle, not sure if this is coincidence or part of the problem. well if anyone has any ideas on whats wrong the post back thanks.

I had a similar problem on my 88 GTA. I don't know what motor you have, but I have a 350 TPI. My guage fuse would blow all the time. Drove me nuts. I finally traced it to the EGR valve solenoid. On my car, it's attached to the same bracket that the ignition coil is attached to. The connector had become brittle and broken and one of the wires came out and was shorting out every time it would touch the intake. My guage's would all go out except the speedometer. Anyways, if you have a different engine, find your EGR valve, and follow the vacum line to something that looks electrical and see if it looks allright. I'm willing to bet that this is your problem! EGR Solenoid. Let me know what you find! Matt

if the egr is not your problem then manually open up the throttle to where you say it blows the fuse and check your linkage to see if its snagging any wires at that point, you have a short somewhere
