Enhanced Subwoofer Box?
Just a quick question here. If you look at the picture below, I have a question about the area where the arrows are pointing.
The previous owner installed two 8" subs in a box that sits behind this area. As far as I can tell, this area sounds hollow underneath, so I was thinking about making that my box (cutting two 8 or 10 inch holes and sinking two subs in there). Am I right in my assumption that this is hollow underneath? Would it be worth it to go ahead with my plan or are there hidden elements like wires and such buried under this shelf?

Never know, put some fuel cell foam in there and the gas tank might make a good speaker box

No do not cut or screw into that area. That is the gas tank. Unless you say screw neons for music enhancement I'll just use real flames. LOL J/K But seriously don't use any screws or cutting in that area. I you want to attach a amp rack just use that 3" wide velcro.
