voltage drain need help PLZ
ok so about a month ago i finished my 350 swap and everything has been great except for an exhaust leak (which i fixed today)
the car had been sitting for 2 years because the first engine swap was a disaster (took it to a shop and 4 grand later still had a broken car) anyway i won't get into that - my alternator crapped out last week - but it was insanely rusted from sitting so i figured that was the culprit - so i replaced it and everything seemed fine - i reinstalled my stereo subs and amp and then noticed when i would brake my voltage would drop to 10 11ish volts according to the gage - i then switch my sub output off and problem went away so i figured my amp and capacitor must have a bad ground - anyway that has all been unhooked and now im getting voltage fluctuation at random when the car is idling - i checked all my grounds and they seem pretty secure - though the ground that comes off the battery to the engine block i placed between the a/c bracket and block (because it seemed that was the only logical place for it to go since i forgot exactly where it went) any way it's secure but maybe that's a bad place for it???
the positive lead on my alternator completely melted through the plastic bushing on the first alternator and i think it may have started its way through this one as well (since the plastic seemed a bit melted - nothing bad just maybe the slightest bit - then again i could be imagining it and it just came that way)
any suggestions greatly appreciated - I need to get this thing ready to take a trip so any ideas you guys have to throw out there I take with the utmost gratitude
thanks
