Wiring a Third Brake Light
I'd like to swap in an 87-90 spoiler/brake light on my 85 IROC. I'd require the upper and lower contacts (my car uses three of the four--rear window wiper and defroster--so how would I install the fourth in the empty slot?). Also, where does the the brake light wire (from the spoiler) enter the deck? Finally, is the harness such that there's simply a pigtail to the lower contact, or is there a separate wire altogether?

Re: Wiring a Third Brake Light
this sucks that this was never answered. on my 85 i have the same problem. previous owner put the spoiler/hatch on but never wired up the brake light.
i know i have to tap into the brake lights but i would like to know where the wire ran from the factory. the pig tail for the light is still under the plastic piece on the hatch.

Re: Wiring a Third Brake Light
Ok I was wondering if any one had a idea what my problem could be.
I have the 3rd tail light in the spoiler on my 89 RS, Well i was missing the contact plate, I recently bought on, put it in and does not work. I was just wondering if a contact plate could be bad? And if not what should I try next? I really would like to get this light to work! Thanks guys!
