VATS "not the key"
Well I thought by know I would not be posting anymore. My car failed emmisions and my girl is prego. So I need to sell my car. Well while I was cleaning it and removing my sterio and getting the car in tip top shape I decided to plug the vats connection for the key cylinder back in so it didnt look like crap under the dash. i did this and put the resistor back. And wouldn't you know it the car won't crank. I took it back apart and tried several times to make sure the resistor was making a good connection and it is. I tested the resistor to make sure it is still good. It is. Now I'm stuck. how else can I bypass this system or troubleshoot it to find what is causing this problem. I've search the boards and everything about vats is "put thie resistor in the connector under the dash" but that is not my problem. WERE ELSE DO I LOOK FOR PROBLEMS TO FIX THIS? I need to sell the car quick and for as much as possible.I have to have enough money to make her car payment for 3 months while she ids on maternity leave. Ford really over prices those ruststains 32000 for a gt convert. OUCH?
ans now I have to pay for it uhg! How do i fix the vats problem for the cheapest????

Well how bout this. Can anyone confirm that the vats can be disabled through the chip and the car will start. I have 2 options here if that works one will cost about $150(the chip) the other will cost about $5-600(new vats module and install labor charge). Please help me out here.
