Service engine light does not work

Just bought my first 88 Iroc. I bought a code reader, but when I turn the key, the service engine light does not come on. I need this to work in order to check the codes right? Thanks.....This is the collest website!!:lala:

Yep, you really do need this light working. Have you tried replacing the bulb?
