hey i have a 1988 Camaro 305 TBi 5 speed, this is the problem,
ok driving down the freeway on sunday and bam everything dies in the car, i pull over and stop, then it all comes back on, ok drive home then on sunday night i got a fire call so i went out my driveway and bam everyhting foes out again and wont start, anyways i get a ride to the call and then come home, open the door and the interior lights come on strat it runs for 5 seconds and dies, tried to get it goin again, wont go, checked the battery connections there clean and tight then i get power again, try to start and nothing dies again,
so i tapped the dash and i got power started it and limped it home, went out this morning started right up and idled nicely, then i pulled the bottom of the dash off and tapped on it, boom it all dies again , so i tap some more and power wont come back on, i play with tones of wires under the dash and nothing, check all the fuses there good, hit the dash a few more times, and quite hard and nothign, so now the car sits there lifless, any ideas???? the only thing that worx is tha alarm as it is direct off the battery, no power to anything else??? im lost!

 

Check the starter connection (the big one that goes to the battery). This is where most of the power is "branched off".
