well the Iroc has started this strange problem. i have a guess to the answer but i am not sure. it did it to me this morning and to my dad a few times a couple of days ago. the car will start fine, i was backing out of the driveway almost to the end and i hit the radio to turn it on. i creep out a little farther and the car just dies. wont start, wont move, nothing. i sit and wait for a couple of minutes and then i can finally start it again. dad said the same thing happened to him. what do you guys think it is. my guess is alternator or battery. what do you think. thanks guys

 

this is just a guess but maybe u should check all of your grounds for ur radio and see if they are properly connected and such. better to start looking at things of that nature then before u go out and buy a needless battery and or alternator. hope i helped.

 

will do... you think that would make the car shut off. the check engine and security lights both come on when it happens

 

hmmm im not really sure, but its always good to check and make sure, because down the line you dont wanna have that end up being ur problem and u could have solved it way back! i hate that, it happens to me all the time. another thing u could do is, since ur check engine light comes on, see if ur cars computer is throwing codes. maybe that could give u an indication as to what the problem is.

 

check for codes and take the alt and batt into autozone and have them test it for free. then you will know wether or not u should replace them.

 

well... i took it to autozone and they said nothin's wrong with batt. or alt. arg... i looked at the radio ground looked good to me. i have no idea what it is so i dropped it off at the local shop. hopefully they will figure it out here quickly. thanks for the help guys
