Alternator is making me insane

Ok some of you may remember my post a while ago where I stated that every month or so my alternator would go out on me and I would replace it with my autozone warranty(if I didnt have that I would blow this car up)well I thought I fixed the problem but last week my alternator went out on me again. So I replaced it and when I did I accedently left the voltage regulator unplugged , the car was running and I went to plug it in and it slipped out of my hands and struck the valve cover and sparked I plugged it in and the alternator charged fine. Then the next day I start the car and my gauge is showing 8 volts so I do a visual inspection. Then I unplug the voltage regulator and plug it back in and I hear the alternator kick on, I looked and sure enough its at 12-13 volts. So now every time I turn the car on I have to unplugg and plug in the voltage regulator to get the alternator to kick on.So I replace the voltage regulator and it does nothin.I am really pissed at this thing now .I appreciate any help I get. Thanks

Clean the contacts on the wiring harness that hook to the regulator.
Ues some 400 grit paper folded up nice and small to slip in the connector, then spray off with some contact cleaner or a SMALL squirt of brake parts cleaner. You may want to also pull the pins from the connector and clean them and then rebend the contact portion so it makes firmer contact with the regulator prongs.
