That fuse actually runs to several things, courtesy light, cigarette lighter, radio ect....The power ACC fuse runs to power windows, door locks, mirrors, ect. The wire is probably shorted, best advice i can offer is trace the wire from the fuse (prolly an orange one) as far as you can, look for the insulation stripping away in parts or anything that might cause it to short. Is the fuse blowing RIGHT AWAY when you stick a new one in?? Or only when you turn certain things on?

I have the exact same problem. That fuse takes a 20 A fuse, so I tried putting in a 25. Lasted a lot longer, but it finally blew out yesterday after about two weeks. It's annoying...I lose my horn, dome light, cig. lighter, and if I had a working stereo that'd be wacked too.

I wish I could follow the wire, like you said.

If the fuse lasts for days or weeks or months but allways blows, my money says your power wires had the insulation stripped away somewhere. Especially if the fuse blows when your not using anything, just the vibrations from driving will shake the wires, and it's probably rubbing against a ground connection and shorting out. A larger fuse might mean you need a more solid 'rub' to short, but i wouldnt recomend going any bigger, the fuses arent the problem they're just protecting you from some far worse symptoms. I would check your cig. lighter, your dome/courtesty lights, and your radio. None of those run in the wiring harness they're all just kinda loose...Not too hard to remove and check either. Most likely it's one of those that is shorting you. Especially with radio's installed by previous owners, you never know what the hell they were thinking.

check your loose radio wires. I had the same thing happen to my 85 Z--took the radio out but forgot to tape up the wires so every time the pwr wire hit the metal bracket I'd blow the fuse--along w/everything else on the acc fuse.

don't forget to check for the dreaded "coin in the cig. lighter" problem, camaros didn't have this problem but firebirds have almost all had this at one time or another.

I had same problem, my dome light/power windows/power locks would all of a sudden go out. would have a blown fuse. would replace the fuse and it would blow about a month later. Solution: take the cigarette lighter out of the car. The cig lighter was some how shorting, not sure where, but the fuse hasn't blown in over a year since then. Might have just been my car, might not be. worth a try.
