you got a buzzing noise under the dash when you turn the key? well i had the problem because i was installing a shifter. theres a purple and yellow wire in the center council, thats what did it for me. have to make sure they are wired up. dont know what color your line is, its different in a few years. i wired a relay to the 2 and it fixed it. you can wire them togeather but thats no good. if you need a new ignition switch let me know, i bought one figuring it was that but ended up being a 7.99 relay.

i was wondering about the relay you got for 8 bucks. what relay would that be?
I have a quicksilver shifter, and just have the purple/yellow wires hooked together at the moment, lets the car run, but i dont have any backup lights

thanks,

yeah its a radio shack relay, stock # 275-206. solder the purple to # 12 on the relay and the yellow to #8. there will be little numbers on the prongs on the relay. #14 is ground, dont forget to ground it. the green wire is my backup lights, not sure what it is on yours, some wires vary depending on the year of the car. but my b&m shifter came with relays and i soldered that wire to the b&m relays. i made a mistake though cuz my reverse lights are on in park so i gotta reverse the connection. need anymore help let me know.
