How to attach a wire to the fuse box?

I need to wire in the power wire for my exhaust cut out this week and have never wired an accessory into my car before. I'm thinking I'll attach it to the radio fuse? How exactly do I go about doing this?

Thanks.

OK first off you need to determine how many amps this cut out is actually going to draw, you may need a larger fuse if you hook it up to a pre-existing fuse, and that -may- jepordize some of the components allready on that circuit. The radio is probably hooked up to your ACC (accessory) fuse, I would recomend using an unused fuse. There are many ways to do this, there is most likely a few un-used fuse slots in your fuse box, also there is...well another little fuse block, up in the dash i forget what it's called..Or you can just buy inline style fuses or a small add-on block ect ect ect. Basically you just crimp the wires into the back of the fuse block, theres connectors back there. They're not really re-usuable once crimped, you'll need new ones, BUT, again, at least a few of yours should be extra and not used yet. Loosen up the fuse block and look in the back, you strip the tip of the wire, slide it into the copper terminal pin and squeeze.

They make a neat fuse with a wire already coming off of it. VERY USEFUL!!!!! Comes in all amperages

Thanks. I know the wiring for the cut out already has a fuse in it so if I use one of the empty slots in the fuseblock I should just pop a fuse into that spot that matches the one provided by the company right?

Hey how do I tell if one of those empty fuse slots is hot only when the key is on? Volt or Amp meter I'm guessing?

One of the 'IGN' slots will be hot only when the key is on.

Thanks....there was actually one of those open terminals on the back of the wiper fuse so I put it right into there. It seems to be working fine and the fuse that comes with it inline is only 1amp.
Now I just have to wait until tomorrow for Mufflex to install the cutout and then I can run the wire into the car.
