big problem with headlights
I have a 1990 firebird formula, the headlights no longer want to go up by themselves. the driver's side motor has completely gone dead but the passenger side motor still works it just dosent raise the headlight. Well my problem is that I bought off ebay a set of used motors off a 87 trans am and planned to just rebuild them, but what I didn't know until I got them in the mail today is that there are 3 wires (tan, green, dark blue) that are coming off the motor, and there are only 2 wires (tan, green) coming off my motors. My question is is there any way that I can still use these motors I got off ebay? somebody please help me, I tired of having to put my headlights up and down manually.

'87 motors are 2 wire units. You got sent or sold the wrong ones. '84-'86 used 3 wires, '87-92 used 2 wires. Sounds like the passenger side motor's bushing and gearing is bad. Get a rebuild kit from Top-down Solutions. The other motor is either gonna need to be replaced or possibly the headlight module is goin bad. Might possibly be the headlight switch. Though there is less of a chance it is the switch then the other stuff. The rebuild kit is definitly needed for the passenger motor.
Hope this helps some.
