86 Trans Am Spedometer Not Working

86 Trans Am Spedometer Not Working

Hi

I have an 86 trans am and everything in my gauge cluster but the spedometer works i took apart my dash beacouse i figured there whould be a cable going to the spedometer and maybe the cable just wasent conected but after doing this i saw there was no cable going to the spedometer is there soppoest to be a cable or is it a electric spedometer and if so how can i fix it

more than likely the vss sensor is bad. That is located on the side of the transmission tailshaft housing, it has a 2 wire connector going to it.

i bought the car in july and when i bought the car it dident work the guy did have a new transmission put in not to long before i bought it
