I have a 91' GTA LB9 w/700R4. All of a sudden after washing the car (not under hood) my car started reading @11.0 volts. Well i had my doubts that altenator was bad being new so i road around for about a hour (at night w/headlights on) and the volts slowly went down to about 10.0volts. At that time i was at home and went to bed. The next morning on the way to work the battery finally got so low that the car started missing and wouldnt hardly run. I pulled over got a jump and went on. I took the alternator and battery and got them tested. The battery was bad and the alternator was good. Bought a new battery and installed it with new side post. Just went driving and eventually the battery started going dead. It like something is draining my battery faster than my alternator can charge it. Any suggestions?Ask for more info.

 

check to make sure you are geting the turn on signal to the alt. it should be the small red wire on the connector.

i found the problem. Someone had some type of remote wire running to the fuse box and i kicked i out. thanks
