Cigarette Lighter ?

Alright guys, my cigarette lighter is being a pain. If I hold the lighter down, it heats up, but doesn't stay down by itself. It won't work my cell phone charger, radar detector, or the scan tool at autozone. Fuse is good, and I replaced the unit to be safe. Nothing. What do you guys think? Short? Bad ground? I have no idea.

my cigarette lighter does the same thing. If the lighter heats up then you dont have to worry about electrical problems, you're getting power to it. I bought a new cigarette lighter and the thing that goes in the dash. Problem solved for me.

I think I figured it out. I must have had a bad wire somewhere, cause I cut it and spliced in a new piece, and it seems to work. Of course I think from the bad wire I blew up my cb radio and my radar detector, and not just the fuse either. Alls I know is I'm gettin 12.2 vots on the meter so it must be ok.
