gauges

most of my gauges don't work. my oil pressure gauge is always pegged, my water temp gauge is always down (once every couple months it works for one trip until I turn the car off). my speed gauge sometimes gets a mind of its own and making a loud wining and goes back and forth from 0 to 100 when im going about 40. all the other gauges work for now. if anyone can tell me how to repair these gauges it would be greatly appreciated, because I would really like to have all my gauges working.

Well for being the oil gauge, i would sugest looking at the oil sending units. When mine died my gauge would peak like yours, clear past 80? As for the others, maybe its electrical like in connections, you can take off your gauge cluster and look on the back and see if there are any scratches on the green cooper inpregnated materal that runs around the back, may be you have a bad connection at the back of the gauges.

Check sensors first, or remove and inspect back of cluster.
Hope its simple for ya to fix.

Nope you dont. It does help to tilt it all the way down, on mine i pulled the top and had to really SQEEZE it out by rolling forward. Just be carefull not to breat any thing. On my car i also did not have a MPH cable running from the back, all i had was just the electrical imputs, so its not too bad to take out, just unscrew the white part(entire case) and roll forward to get out, roll backard to get back in. Its not to bad, you can have it all out and back in in about 20-30min.
