running lights went out help!
hey guys have a little problem that after a few test ive narrowed it down but id like any suggestion's you may have. I was driving at night a few nights ago, all of a sudden my dash lights go out not know why i just get pissed drive home wondering what happened to them. Then when i get home i check my exterior lights and find something interesting. I have no parking lights, no rear running lights on top of the dash lights being out. Also my headlights will come up but they wont go down. I have brake lights and turn signals so i know the lights are good. The next night of course i get pulled over for it so now i need to get this fixed ASAP. I'm thinking that it is the parking light side of the light switch is gone which controls the "Off" position for my headlights to flip them down. I'm wondering if there are any other possibilities any help would be great.
Thanks
Thanks

lolMine kinda does the same thing, however, all of the lights will cut out. It use to just be the brights, which I attributed to maybe to powerful of headlights, old wires, or the turn signal switch.
The rest of the light problem I believe is coming from the actual switch itself, and of course it would have to be one of the biggest PITA's to get to. It could be your problem to. I know it's a pain, but a search will help you find your problem, I know there have been posts on it before. Best of luck

I had a problem with the wire loom under the dash rubbing on a brake pedal bracket. Blown fuses and hard times involved here.
Finding it was very tough. Fixing it sucked, too.
A bulk of the time spent involved trying to figure out where the short was.

When you determine the cause, please post the solution. Electrical problems really suck and by posting symptoms and ultimate causes/cures, it can only make fixing a very frustrating problem easier.
Thanks and good luck with your fix- look forward to hearing your cause/cure.
