Fog lights

When I press my switch inside the car, the light next to the switch comes on, but the lights won't work, I noticed one of my fog light doesn't have a bulb, might this be the cause because they don't work?
I connected a voltmeter to the conectors of the fog lights and I don't get anything.
Any ideas?

The switch activates a relay. Sounds like it may be bad. Even with one lamp out, the other should light. You should be able to hear the relay click when you hit the switch. If not, that's your culprit.

On my 85 (don't know if they changed this nice feature later) the fog lights will NOT come on if the HI-beams are on. If you have them on w/ low beams, and turn on hi-beams, they go out.

same for me, its normal. look at the diagram u can clearly see the highbeams / relay are directly connected to the foglights and make them turn off when the high beams are on.

Fog lights won't come on with high beams on any production car.

On 85s, the fog lights will ONLY come on with low beams. On 86+ cars, they will also come on with the parking lamps.

now, about that diagrm... I see how the realy is connected in to the hi/lo beam switch, but that diagram can't be right... it shows that when you turn on your lights you have a hot hitting the top pole of the energizer for the relay - coming out the other side, (dots being a junction) it would go to the high beam indicator and then ground, not to mention the brights would be on at all times.

If the tan wire coming out of the hi/lo switch were to one side of the relay and a ground on the other then I'd buy it... am I reading something wrong?

fog lights

Next question.....'90 Trans Am, pushing the button turns on the fog lights but they won't stay on and the relay does click.
It's mounted under the hood on the left side by the hinge.
Any ideas? Bad switch maybe?
