Temp Gauge and Oil Pressure Gauge
I have an 84 Cam z28
the temp gauge is pinned all the way as far as it will go past 260 and never moves. has any one heard of this before. Does it sound more like sending unit or gauge? If it is the sending unit can that part just be replaced without running the whole thing?
the oil pressure gauge works fine like 90% of the time but every once and awhile it also spikes all the way to the top and hangs there for a bit. i think it may be a piece of sludge or something in the line....
Thanks for the help guys...

As far as i know all thirdgens had electric guages not mechanical. The temp guage pegged means the guage wire is grounded. Possibly the wire for it is frayed and is touching bare metal or more likely the sending unit. Possibly the same thing with the oil pressure guage. I'd replace both sending units and see if that solves the problem, they're not expensive.

The temp gauge could also be stuck on the lip of the gauge face as sometimes happens when it gets aged.
I'd go with 3gc idea 1st, it doesn't involve taking all the trim crap off the cluster. Oil pressure will peg if it has a break in the circuit.
