Car died while driving? S.O.S!!!

While driving to work this morning I hit a pothole preety bad and the bump made my car turn off. I steered the vehicle off the street and tried to turn it on again but nothing happened. None of the lights on the dash came on(security light, air bag,SES)so I turned the lights on to see if they would come on and they worked w/o hesitation. With the ignition switch open I went to the engine and started fiddling with the battery, alt, and the plugs that go to the coil, still nothing. Then the lights on the dash came on out of nowhere and the car turned on with no problem.

Like two days before the car turned off on me, the wires that plug into the coil were exposed and were making contact with my open air element. I bought a new plug and fixed this problem. Ever since my car turned off, I feel my ignition switch a little more difficult to turn when I turn on the car. Im putting all these things out to make it easier for those that might have an idea to help me diagnose the problem. Any ideas what it could be?

Loose ground, check the ground wires at the back of both heads and on the firewall.
