digital dash problems!

Well, that time of year again. Put the ol' bird away for storage, picked up a winter vehicle for cheap. Well, it's an 88 grand prix with a digital dash. Problem is, the tach doesn't work and the speedometer only reads zero. (when i start it up, it has that initial reading of like 188...then goes to zero.) I checked all the connections under the hood and it all seems to be ok. Anyone have any clue on this subject? HELP! i have a bad habit of speeding when i know how fast i'm going.... don't wanna get a whole lotta tickets here.

thanks man, i'm doing just that, going to the junkyard. If this post does get locked, then it's BS Thirdgens have digital dashes too. A berlinetta or GTA could be having the same problem as my GP.

If the car was a Berlinetta than I would tell you that the problem was inside the cluster,......... & that you needed to get a replacement.

got a junkyard cluster... this one is f'd up too.... but the speedo and tach work. Gas gauge is a little whackey and the temp light comes on and off. but, for a winter car it's good enough, i know how fast i'm going.
