Positive-Side or Ground-Side Switching?

I want to install highbeam headlight flashers, but I need to know which switching method is used to active my 89 TransAm's headlight/parking lights. I installed the Headlight flasher the positive side one, but it's not working properly so I'm thinking it could be the ground side switching?

Headlights and parking lights are both switched power and constant ground.
