Switch to shut off only rear plate light?

I want to do what the title says, have a switch on my dash or console somewhere that will shut off only the rear plate lights. Does anyone know how to go about wireing this up? Its as simple as just running the wire for the lights through the switch, but where do I find the wires for the lights?

I have too much free time, and like useless things, it would just be somthing interesting to have. Its the step before installing a motor to raise/lower the plate, that cannot be legal

Thanks if anyone knows where the heck the wires are.

Banks arn't open at night so that would be useless, i'm not going to get away from the cops with a 305tbi, so thats out. Just for the hell of it.

i hear the james bond theme playing.....

why not hook up a hydaulic actuator to flip the rear plate down?

haha, JK.

just interrupt the either wire to the plate lights, and extend the 2 cut ends of the wire to the dash/console/whatever to a simple on/of switch.

Easiest way to get to the wire is probably to take out the tail light lens, though actually I think the lenses for the plate lights unscrew from the lend housing.

why not just take a hammer and smash the lights that will keep em off.....

easy way that i would go is remove on of the lights completely that will show the wire, splice in a new wire with a switch... only prob is you have to access both lights since they are on the marker light circuit. then splice into each before the bulb.

i would rather spend the time installing strobes in them now that would be a better waste of time.......
