Tach doesn't work after Digital 6 install?

I installed an MSD digital 6 ignition, and an MSD pro billet small cap distributer (external coil) and now my autogage 5" tach doesn't work. On the old setup i had it wired to the cap of the HEI, just like the stock tach. I've tried wiring the tach to both sides of the coil, tried connecting it to the tach output on the ignition and still got nothing.

I bought the tach adapter (pn8910) as it says to do in the instructions, but now i don't know where to connect the tach. Theres only two wires on the adapter, and they both get spliced into other lines (one to power, the other to white trigger wire).

So when using the adapter, where do i connect the tach wire?

There is a plug for your tach on the same side as the wires for the magnetic trigger. I jusy got done putting in a MSD 6AL and it works without the adapter.

I am currently swapping to small cap and external coil. I am stuck. I have an 85 Z28 that had a large cap HEI. I didnt have an external coil. Now I am switching to 8366 small cap dist., 8226 coil and 8876 harness. I have two wires left that i dont no were to put them. My power wire and my tach wire from the large cap HEI. I am waiting for MSD to fax me the diagrams. I have an MSD digital 6 as well. If you have some close up pics of your setup it would help me alot. I think MSD said I would need the tach adapter. I am not good with electronics but if I have instructions and pics I can do it. The problem is that their instructions assume I had an external coil already. I guess you and I are in the same boat? Except I havent tryed hooking my tach wire cuz I dont know where it goes.

can't help you with the tach, as i'm in the same boat you are, but the pink power wire that was running to your cap, should now be going to the accesory power wire on the digital 6. It should be a red wire soming out of the 4 wire harness on the digital 6.

Hope that solves one problem, now does anyone have any ideas on the tach situation?
