Starting problems
I'm having problems getting my car to start, it's not really starting at all. It had been sitting for about six months, and now that I've started working on it again, it stopped starting after a couple starts. The battery is dead, but I've got a buddy around who'll help me jump it. However, even then it won't start. The engine starts to turn over, for one or two seconds and then stops. I'm at a loss.

Get a battery charger and fully charge the battery, don't just jump it). If it is real old I would considder getting a new battery(Geta diehard Gold or something like that). If the car still turns over with no ignition, then you most likely are getting no spark. So see if you are getting spark with a spark tester that you put on the distributor. Your gas is probably real ****ty because it sat that long, so I would put in some good freash gas. To get a car started you need
1. Spark
2. Good Gas
3. Compression

Thanks for your help, I got it going. All it needed was some fresh gas and some patience on my part. I let it charge for ten minutes then it started right up.
