I just did a 700r4 to t-5 tranny swap in my 85 tpi i need to know what the electrical connector on the transmission did. i am not talkin about the speedo cable but the one forward of that. It had 3 prongs if i remember correctly. I know that it is not the neutral safety switch or the reverse lights. But my check engine light is on. so i was thinking maybe cruise control???? not sure, would love any help

The only other electronically controlled piece on the trans i can think of is the torque converter lockup. Pull the code by grounding the a to b terminals on the aldl. If it is the tcc youll need a chip from the manuel trans to get rid of the light.

 

isn't one of the wires on the 700r4 for the speedometer though?

One wire is for the speedo but he said its not that one. Its farther forward.

 

theres a backup light in there as well.

on the automatic the reverse lights were in the console where the shifter is so i know it isnt that. the car was an automatic so now that i put the 5 speed in i need to find where i can route the vss, does anyone have a wiring diagram of a 85 t-5 tpi auto and standard?
