Wiring Woes

Recently, I bought a 1984 Pontiac Trans Am, with the V8 305 H.O., and it has the "H" engine.

I had to replace the Cam Shaft, but also changed out the lifters, pushrods, carb, plugs, wires, ect ect.

Ok, I have everything in the engine put back together, with the execption of the belt accesories (Alt., water pump, power steering pump), but the guy who owned the car before me cut the hell out of all of the wires in the engine. He said he cut all the "emission" crap out: no cats, nothing.

Anywho, I have no idea what goes where, I have the Hayes book, but I'm sorry, I'm not an electrical engineer, and I don't understand the wiring diagrams that they have in there.

Is there any place that you can suggest that I go to find what I need to hook up, electrically?

I mean, I need the electric choke for the carb, the alternator wires, distributer, and whatever else that the engine will need wired to get it to start and run.

(The ONLY wire I figured out was the one for the hood scoop)

Thanks for any help you can give!

well your gonna need wiring diagrams. Or you could wire the car like an old car.

power from the battery to the alternator, alternator to battery (i think thats right), power to the starter, (not sure where the other terminals on the starter are supposed to hook up to....yet, im doin a swap too at the moment )

is the distributor not hooked up at all? the original one even? your gonna have to find the tach and power wire for that thing as well.

I hope i helped a bit, im sure someone else with much more knowledge would be of greater help and will try to help out.

cheers
