power lock click

ok all electronics gurus, whenever i push the power door lock buttons (driver or passenger side) the locks do not work and all i hear is a click noise coming from what seems to be around the fuse box area? does anyone know what i can do to fix this problem? expensive??

you sound lonely, lol I can't help you and albedamned if anyone else can too. That's really weird, if I were you I would follow the wires from the button to where you hear the noise and see if you don't run into something. good luck

Well, I'll be nice and try to help you out here. The click that you are hearing from around the dash area is the power door lock relay which is located inside the left kick panel. You can get a new relay fairly cheap and if that doesn't fix the problem of the door not locking, remove the inner door panels and clean and lube the rods that go to the power door lock solenoids which are located inside the door frame at the bottom of the door below the latch. Spray lithium grease is good for this after cleaning it.

thanks for advice, where might i be able to get one of those relays? advanced auto?

Yes, or AutoZone or NAPA, If not them, they are still available through the dealership or a good junkyard.

Before you go out and buy new relays, first try to check the connections. Make sure that they are grounded to the body really well. The screw that holds them in place is also the grounding point. A lot of our cars have P/L that do not work, or work slow. This has helped many people fix those problems.
