weird fuse problem

My one fuse blows everytime my cigarette lighter gets pushed in. I don't smoke, but I use my cigarette lighter to power my portable cd. Sometimes when I put the lighter back in and push it in, I'll push it in too far. It blows a fuse.

What could cause this? How do I fix it?

Try removing the cigarette lighter assembly and checking the connector on the back as well as cleaning the assembly.

Sounds like the lighter heater element is shorted. Try a differant one from another car.
