seat belt warning?
Hi,
The seat belt warning lamp in my '84 z28 has decided to stay on continuously for some reason.I can't find any real info on the "8 second delay" timer in the proper shop manual. Any idea where to look for the thing?..or what it looks like?
I haven't altered anything to cause it to fault as far as I know

The delay timer is in the same box that the warning buzzer is in. On a left-hand drive thirdgen, it would be located above the drivers' right leg, under the dash on what is called a 'convenience center'. This center also houses the hazard warning flasher and choke heater relay. If your car has been converted to right-hand drive, it's hard to say what wiring has been shifted around, so you can locate it by turning on the hazards lights and locating the clicking sound of the flasher. The box you are seeking should be blck or gray, will be about 80mm long by 40mm high and 25mm thick.
You might also want to check the wiring connector on the lower retractor on the driver's side. Try grounding the black wire and see if that makes any difference.
