Ignition Switch ?
NOW IN MY 89 I HAD TO REPLACE THE COLUM. I HAVE THE KEY WITH THE RESISTOR IN IT. NOW I HAVE THE KEY TO THE NEW COLUM BUT I KNOW ITS NOT THE SAME RESISTOR. NOW IF I JUST CHANGE RESISTORS OTHER THAN TRYING TO SWITCH OVER THE WHOLE SWITCH WOULD THAT WORK? GETTING A KEY CUT TO THE COLUM THAT I BOUGHT WITH THE STOCK RESISTOR OR DO I HAVE TO SWITCH THE WHOLE IGNITION SWITCH? I HOPE THIS EXPLAINS IT.

Take both keys to your local dealership and ask them to recode the key you will be using with the code from your old key. And keep the old lock cylinder around as a spare.
P.S. turn off the caps, they are not required and it is considered to be impolite.
