Im in the middle of my auto -> manual swap on my 87 v6 camaro and I am trying to find the wires for the reverse lights and the neutral safety switch. The only wires I found that look even close to the wires on the clutch switch are on a 6 wire connectiong that was in the center console connected to the automatic shifter. It makes sense if these are the wires I would use for the clutch switch but Im not sure. They are purple and yellow.

As far as the reverse light wires go, I have no clue where they are. I assume they would be on the same connection as the neutral wires but I am not sure which wires they are and what the other 2 wires would be for.

I really wish I had some wiring diagrams to help with this. If I knew which wires were what it wouldnt be too hard to wire everything up.

i JUST did this lastnight with my car... im putting a T56 into my car that had a auto... (well.. its IN now )


the first two ones are big thick wires... thoes are the nutural saftey switch wires... connect thoes to the switch that gets pressed when the clutch is to the floor.

the next to wires to the thick ones are your reverse lights. if you stick a jumper wire between them and turn the key on, the reverse lights should come on.... they were green and blue on my car.

btw, yes it IS the big connector that plugs into the shifter.

matter of fact, if you unplug the connector and pry the holding tabs back you can see how the switch works...


i looked at the switch and used that to figure out what wires were what, then confirmed it by jumpering them.
