I needed to go back nj anywyas he made temp fixed wired the brown wire coming out alt to wiper motor relay worked fine think i should just hook it back up there? I was trying wire it somewhere else though hopefully the correct place. I read on here somewhere someone asked if you could wire it straight to battery and the replies were yes maybe i misread it cant find thread again anyways i hooked it up to pistive battery terminal cable where a wire with yellow fuse already is and it ran fine but last two days as car sits un unused it kills battery like its conastely powering the alt?

Looking at a diagram i have for my 87 there are two brown wires connecting to the alternator. The outer brown wire goes to the voltage guage and the center one goes to a 20 amp fuse in the fuse block. Yours should be similar.

I have a 85 camaro v6 and had the same problem after an engine swap. One brown wire is key hot (to the fuse block) and the other brown goes to the F8 slot in the bulkhead (the voltage guage). If you need a diagram of the bulkhead, email me. Good luck
