Autometer gauges
Autometer gauges
1. Do all autometer gauges light up or just the Ultra Light series and the Cobolt series?
2. Are the shift lights removable from the tach's?
3. Are any of the other gauge brands any good?
Autometer's are nice, but they're very expensive by the time you get a complete setup. I don't like the look of auto gauge or whatever that is that Summit sells. What about something like Faze or whatever that is that advanced carries?

The AutoMeter "Lunar" guages light up a neat greenish color. They have a thin layer of phosphor that illuminates from a small electric charge. But they seem to be the most expensive. AutoMeter's newer "C2" guages are a bit cheaper and have a cool blue illumination from LED lighting.
I don't know about the shift lights (no experience).
VDO also makes nice analog guages, but not quite as many as AutoMeter. I don't know of any other major brands for analog guages. Nordskog makes mostly digital, but they do make some analog as well.
