Switching from 85-90 headlights to 91-92 headlights
I want to switch to the smaller 91-92 Bird headlight assemblies. Is there anything I need to change or alter to use the headlight assemblies, such as relays, etc?

Switching to the 91-92 assemblies is likely not worth it-
First off, the headlights are ment to be flush with the bumper, not stepped like the older ones...
secondly, finding all this stuff can be tough as you'll need all the bracktry.
as for wiring its diff, the connector for the motors is a 2 wire connector, so u will have to mess with the wiring a bit.
on the other hand, you mightr be able to just get the bulb bracketry and the front plastcis, and be able to get everything swithced that way... the connector is diff for the headlights to, but it can be easily spliced.

I really only wanted the 91-92 headlights to work with my proposed flush front bumper to have that 91-92 style look. Ill just have to mod my current ones then.

Like someone already said, the motors are the same from '87-'92, so no problems there. And as far as the light assemblies go, I THINK they(and the hood) are the same, too. I believe only the bumper cover changed(with the parking lights).
The headlights and hood didn't get lowered to meet the new bumper cover, the new bumper cover was raised to meet the headlights. So if you're changing to the newer bumper cover, I'd guess the only thing you'd need to change on the headlight assemblies would be the bezel(trim), which shouldn't be a big deal at all. The biggest deal, I'd think, would be the parking lights.
I don't know any of that for sure, but from looking closely at both styles, that's what it looks like. I guess you'll findout when you remove the old nose and try installing the new one, lol.
