whats this wire do?
I am looking for shifter plates on ebay. I found one with this wire on the bottom; does anyone know what it does?
As you can see in the pic the wire coming out of the white plastic.

Looks like the shifter light.
**oops, I just realized the hole for the light is there on the opposite side. Not sure what it is.
Maybe it attaches to the shifter itself and its for the shift indicator.

actually its not a wire at all. its a small fiberoptic cable that lets the light from the shift indicator pass through it and lights up the ashtray area.
