Tach filter

I have done a search and read dozens of posts and can't seem to find my situation. I have a stock distributer on a 83 Z28 LG4 (104K) Lately, I have noticed after I get around 3000 RPM the Tach bounces all over.

Is this probably the Tach filter needing replaced?
Is it really only available through Junkyards?
Will bypassing it work, or will it damage the tach?

thanks much,
phil

What is the rating on the condenser, or are there ratings for them?

Hello phess11,

Will this schematic and tach filter location help you out any? It is out of the 1983 GM camaro service manual.
