so what would cause a stock radio to play AM/FM with no problem and through all 4 speakers... but when a cassette is played, it only comes through 2? it came through all four for the first time i played it, but then i played it again and it only goes through the 2 right speakers...

when i turn it all the way towards the left the sound is very low and crackily... but the speakers aren't blown...

what's the deal

 

I don't know what the problem is but my car does that, too. Not just on cassette, tho, I don't think. Every once in a while it'll only play on the right speakers and if I turn the balance over to the left side it's real quiet and crackly... I have other stuff I need fixed b4 I have that checked out, tho...

 

If you take the tape out and flip it, does it switch to the left?

The preamp for the tape deck is probably bad. Or possibly the tape head is out of adjustment/dirty.
