Check engine light driver
Anybody have an idea where this damn thing is located. Just finished installing a 355 to replace the worn out 305 w/240,000 on it. Now the check engine light stays on and according to the service many I need to check C pin on the remote lamp driver module.

Thanks Vader, but the driver I'm looking for is not in the ECM. The ECM grounds pin G to turn the light off. It seems I have either an open line from pin G at the ECM to Pin C at the remote lamp driver, or a bad driver. Goning back under the pasenger side dash to search some more.

As for the lamp driver, it's right ni here:

Is this a schematic of what you are referring to. "X" marks the spot. If you have the GM service manual, it should give you the location of that unit. If you have a haynes or chilton, they may talk about it but I don't think they will give you a location.

I found it. It's under the passenger side dash near the center console. I appreciate the help. Flowmaster, mine was still running ok. The biggest problem was all the oil leaking from just about everwhere. The gaskets and seals had worn out over 19 years. There was a fair amount of slack in the timing chain and the compression was starting to drop off. 19 years and 240,000, not too bad. I hope the 355 does half as well.
