First off, I have an 86 2.8 V6, and my friend has an 89 IROC 5.7. He and I would like to make http://winaldl.joby.se/aldlcable.htm What would be involved with making this resistor wise? can we run it with the engine on or will it ground it out and fry or something?

That thing says something about do not use this resister for FI, and the other says dont use or something.... sooo wtf?

How much would parts for that cost?

Thx

i tried using it on my 88 GTA, didn't get nothing to work. this was the summer of 2003 he might have upgraded it tho since then, but i didn't get nothing to work. it has to configurations, 12 volt source into the collector of the transistor and without 12 volt source, i tried both. when i used the 12 volt source config. my car died and had a hard time ideling. if it dropped below a certain RPM it would die, but after i got it back home and shut it off it reset something and was working fine. but thats just my experiance with that program. good luck to you.

as for parts i spent 8 bucks all the parts can be found at radio shack, and it really helps if you have some soldering skills.

I somewhat get this but its pretty damn confusing

What's the problem? He lists all the appropriate resistors and their values as well as part numbers for the transistors. You will be able to acquire everything you need from a local RadioShack. My setup worked absolutely perfect and really like WinALDL. I see he's updated with a second schematic. If the first one fails, resort to the version with an additional 12v source (that's what I had to do, but found that out the hard way before he updated).
