whats the little wire that comes off the positive battery cable?

Which one, on my car there is a little one that goes to a junction that supplies power to the ECM and a slightly larger black/red one that goes to the alternator.

i only got one small wire coming off of the positive battery cable and it goes to the power junction on the radiator support. How does the alt. recharge the battery then? Where does that red wire go?
