car wont' start at all

Hey I got a weird problem with my car, it just won't start.

I got a 85 Trans Am with a 350, did not do it myself and had the car for about 5 years before this happened

I replaced several switches and all on the steering column and finally started to really trace wires, and I do not have ANY power going to the start switch on the steering column, the big thing is that the wires that I want to trace go into one big boom to the right side of the car and I have no clue where they come out!

OK, I have power to the starter, battery is good, have interior lights come on but just no power to the start switch. Anything I missed! It happened at once while parking it somewhere!

I patched the ignition with a direct wire from the battery to the ignition wire and it will start, but the car runs like @#%% now and I can't get it above idle without it stalling on me! Is this related or is it the "fuel control"

Richard

Did you check the fusible links at the starter solenoid. That is where the power for the ignition switch and just about everything else comes from. The battery is the source, these are the circuits.
