2 weeks ago I had an overheating problem. Got that fixed, replaced the water pump (and t-stat). Don’t think that has anything to do with my current problem. But…
Mon on my way to work, traffic (freeway) was a mess. VERY slow for aprox. 5ml. start & stop. Traffic comes to a complete stop again & car dies. Won’t start, cranks but doesn’t turn over. It’s not flooded. (Thanks to DPS for pushing me off the freeway in the middle of rush hour!) DPS calls a tow truck & takes us home.

I get check my Haynes & start trying to figure out WTF. CamaroStud1988 came by for his STB and checked if to see if car was getting any spark at the coil, no spark. So far I’ve replaced some if’e wiring, replaced the pickup coil in the distrib. And tested with a brand new coil, no spark.
I have a 2.8 v6. I have a MSD 6A ignition, blaster2 coil & MSD 8mm plug wires. I have been running this setup for over a year, no problems. Car runs great. Regular tune-ups last one about 3 - 4 mo ago & plugs looked great.
I’m going to stop on my way home & pickup a stock coil & wires. I’m going to hook up my stock ignition, coil & wires. (Process of elimination). Any other suggestions, incase this doesn’t solve the problem?

 

the distributor man. i had the same problem the pickup coil went bad in mine. you have to take the distributor out , and take it apart to replace it. or at least on a 305 ya do.
