ac clutch doesnt turn on

hey guys, last year my ac worked fine..cold.. this year i turn on the ac or defrosters and its not cold, so i check 1. blower motor works 2. ac fuse is good/ all wires seem connected. what else should i look for to figure out why my ac doesnt engage? is there a way to jump it? thankyou

On the back side of your reciever drier (thats the shiny round cylinder up by the blower motor) there is a 2 prong plug. Start your car turn on the AC. Unplug the connector and stick a paper clip in it to jump the leads if you compressors clutch does not engage the you need a new clutch. If it does engage your just low on freon.

Hope that helps

ok

well i tried that ...jumped the 2 prong plug and the clutch didnt spin with the ac on..so this definetly means my clutch is bad? and also as a side note maybe this is or isnt related but last year i was driving i turned on the ac and heard a loud pop under the engine i inspected it but found nothing unusual ..could this of been the clutch blowing??

Yep,
If your using R-12 you need to have someone fill it for you if you have been converted to r-134a then go to your local parts store get a couple cans (3 probably) (around $6 each) a charging hose WITH A GAGE on it then fill it up.

Glad to be of help
