defrost light

rear defrost switch-light went out, is it an led or a normal light? the switch still functions and my defroster still works, but i like all my lights on

It's a part of the switch. You can check the wiring to the switch and if the wiring is good, replace the switch.

We can rebuild it - We have the technology...

I had the same thing happen on a B-car, and replaced the small incandescent lamp in the switch. The ThirdGen might be an LED, but I rather doubt it.

On the third gen defroster switchs, (at least on the one I am looking at now) there are two L.E.D.'s wired into a circuit board inside the switch.

Pay attention to polarity when replacing, and check the bias resistor(s) first.

Trix - Thatnks for the info. I'm a little surprised that the F-cars had the LEDs and the '94 B-cars had an incandescent lamp, though. Go figure. More tidbits of data to file away (and probably lose).
