Iam new to this forum, I need wiring help.
I just bought a 89 Rs, the previous owner put in a carbed 350 in it but he didnt finish the wiring, The car had an 5.0L in it. the main thing is starting the car, he ran 2 wires into the car too start the car you have to turn the key to on then touch the two wires, how can i fix this so it can just start it with the key. He left me with a mess but hopefully with your help i can correct this. thanks for any help.

You can run the wires to the steering column and connect them to the ignition switch. You other option is to buy a momentary switch and wire up the wires to that and have a push button starter. Then you can mount it whereever you please.

ok what happened to the stock harness? did he butcher it or remove it or what because chances are it wouldnt take much to fix it right if it is still semi there. to put it in real short terms .......ok the car gets its cranking power from the wires that connect at the big starter post.the power runs into the car ignition. if its auto it goes then though a neutral saftey switch.or manual its a clutch switch.then to a vats relay if theres a vats. take out the vats relay since you dont need it if its carbed. from there i believe its a yellow or red fat wire that goes backout to the starter connecting to the small terminal. hope this didnt confuse its not very detailed. or if its a butchered deal were your missing alot of wires run the wires your sparkin to the starter wires in your ignition switch.
