TPI Starting problems
Can anyone assist in trouble shooting my problem on an 88 vette engine. This thing is hooked up ready to rock, but when I try to start it, it runs for about 3 seconds and DIES..chug chug chug... Now I have a VATS chip so I replaced it with a non-vats chip and upgraded the fuel system as required, and I just am not sure if the fuel system is the question here or the VATS thing. Since the wiring is out of a 88 corvette it had a vats chip installed on wire B-6, but I got the replacement per Suncoast Conversion part number.. So does anyone have any idea what might be causing the non-running condition???Well, the fuel lines are routed properly, I have checked the TPS and IAC for proper voltage and from what the book says for voltage is in the ball park. What I was thinking was fuel delivery problems...ie insufficient back pressure to pressurize the injectors, cause I can hear the fuel running through the lines. The distributor was set initially and there is Spaarrrrkkkkk.woow. Now the computer did have VATS and I replaced the chip with a Non-vats chip # 16075399. The thought I have is it has to be one of the 2, the VATS crap or the fuel stuff??? what do you think??

There could be a number of reasons for this problem. Have you checked that you are getting the proper signals to and from sensors IAC,TPS? have you adjusted timing? Is this SD? Did you cross fuel line at the rail?
The more info you give the easier it will be to advise.
